Mary Mazibuko is a seasoned entrepreneur with a diverse professional background. She is the Managing Director and owner of M-Way Trading Enterprise, a company involved in catering, transportation, and supply chain services for both government and private sectors.
Before her current role, she held positions in banking, teaching, and administration. She is an alumnus of the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) Entrepreneurship Development Academy (EDA), where she honed her entrepreneurial skills.
Mary has also served as the Deputy Chairperson for the Farmers’ Lab, Izindaba Zokudla – a Conversation About Food, a project led by Professor Naude Malan at the University of Johannesburg.
She holds a National Diploma in Human Resources Management from the University of South Africa (Unisa) and a Junior Management Certificate by the Commission for Administration. Additionally, she has completed various courses in commercial studies, communication, customer care, conflict management, and more.
Mary is a successful commercial poultry farmer, owning an 862-hectare farm in Potchefstroom, JB Marks Municipality, Kenneth Kaunda District in the North West Province. The farm has a capacity of 81,000 poultry per cycle, and she is currently planning to expand.
In addition to poultry, she also owns 34 heifers and 2 bulls, with a particular fondness for the Droughtmaster breed. She aspires to become a stud breeder in the future. Mary also manages a quarter hectare vegetable garden on her farm.
She is the founder and CEO of African Agri-Cities, a non-profit company dedicated to commercialising and industrialising poultry farming for African Poultry Farmers. Through this venture, she shares her experience and uses her farm for theoretical, practical, and administrative training to benchmark the company’s Affiliates Programme.
